My name is Jamie Ray Spivey. I was born
in March 1981 in Douglas, Georgia. I graduated in 1999 from
Coffee High School, and attended South Georgia College
before hiring on with the railroad. As well as most
southerners, I enjoy hunting, fishing and NASCAR. My wife,
Sandy, of seven years, and I have two amazing daughters.
Cadence has just turned six and is in kindergarten at the
same elementary school I attended. Kendalyn is almost two
and she is a pistol.
I hired on with the railroad in August 2002, in Fitzgerald,
GA as a Trainman. In October, twelve weeks after hire date,
I was forced to go and work in Savannah, Georgia. After
eleven months, I was able to return to my home terminal of
Fitzgerald, Georgia. In April of 2006, I attended school in
Atlanta, Georgia for a month's worth of training to become
an Engineer. I was promoted to an Engineer in October of
2006.
Upon my hire date in August of 2002 I became a member of the
UTU. In May of 2004 I joined the BLET. I currently serve on
the Local Committee of Adjustment as Secretary-Treasurer for
the BLET Division 706 in Fitzgerald, Georgia. I joined the
BR&CF on the 5th of July 2006 and became an obtainer a few
weeks later. In April of 2007 I was awarded the position of
Terminal President for #288. We currently have around 80
active members in our terminal and growing.
The BR&CF continues to be your best value!
